Top Goal for 2018:  I strongly believe in goal setting because it encourages us to grow as athletes. There is strength, power in self-esteem and confidence in accomplishing the milestones we set for ourselves. As both a road runner and newbie ultra runner, I wanted to set my expectations high. This year I plan on completing my first 50 miler, and Boston qualifying at the Marine Corps Marathon.
I love data on my workouts because:  Having data of my workouts provide me with accountability & allows me to set my goals high – modifying if needed. It shows me where my ‘happy’ heart rate is at, and whether or not my stride is on point.

Top Goal for 2018:  Qualify for Boston at my 1st marathon (Chicago in October 2018)! I’d also like to PR in my half marathon.
I love data on my workouts because:  The more I know about my runs and how my body is responding, the better I will perform in the future. The Heart Zones Blink 3.0 Armband has been critical in helping me with my easy runs because before I used it, I was running them too fast. Now I aim to keep my heart rate below 150 bpm on easy runs, so I am rested and ready to go on my hard workout days!

Top Goal for 2018:  My top goal of 2018 is to complete my first ever 50k. I’ve signed up for Patapsco Valley 50K in Maryland taking place the last weekend in October. I’m nervous and excited. I have discovered a love for trail running that continues to grow as my training miles increase. We’ll see how well this energy holds up on race day. 😉
I love data on my workouts because:  It is an unambiguous and unbiased measurement of where you are and provides insight that can get you to where you want to be. Heart rate, cadence, V02max, stride, average pace… there are just so many data points offering a variety of data stories that can directly affect the others.

Favorite Sport:  I LOVE to run, but just being active is my favorite. I also swim and love a good strength training session at the gym!
Top Goal for 2018:  Sub6 min miles, Sub22 min 5K, Run a ton of races, Speed train in the summer, Half marathon PR.  So far, I’ve reached the 5K goal (current PR 20:14), and the half marathon PR (1:40:08), but am running all of the races and still working hard to get stronger and faster every day!
I love data on my workouts because:  It helps show me the progress I’ve made over time by implementing a certain training technique or changing nutrition. Particularly, having HR data tells me when I’m pushing too hard, when I could probably work a little harder, or even when my body is having a difficult time with an illness or injury. It can be a crucial piece of evidence to diagnose and issue or solve a problem!

Top Goal for 2018:  Finish up 1200 mi for the year
I love data on my workouts because:  I love data on my workouts to make sure my HR on my recovery runs is in fact in the easy zones to allow my body the rest it needs to achieve my goals. I also love looking back on my data (HR) over time to see how my body has adjusted to longer mileage and faster paces. Data also allows me to track my yearly goals when it comes to fitness.
