Q: Why did you choose the Heart Zones System?
A: We chose your product due to it easy implementation into our existing physical education programs. For the past three years we have been a show case school district for the Polar Gofit program. Our teachers found their product to be very hard to implement and manage in their programs. The students are understanding the goals set by teachers through the use of fit points and the live projection works a lot better that the Polar system.
Q: What are the most important features of the Heart Zones System for your program?
A: The simplicity of implementing them into our PE programs and the potential of measuring when student are in best frame of mind for learning.
Q: How did you get the money to purchase the Heart Zones System? Where did it come from and what is the story behind petitioning to allocate funds to technology for PE?
A: We acquired the funds form several different funding outlets. We have acquired funds from the state of TN Coordinated School Health program, Title IV funds, and from local education foundation grants.
It is our goal as a district to offer the best twenty-first learning environment for our students. Our school administration and School Health Supervisor believe highly in the notation that healthy students make the best learners. That’s why our school district exceeds the state mandated standard for implementing and offering physical activity and physical education. We are looking forward to fully implementing the Heart Zone program across our district to increase awareness of how to personally track your fitness and the impact of being physical active can have on student learning.
Q: What have the kids liked most about having the Heart Zones System?
A: Moving from the polar H7 chest strap location to the blink forearm location. The kids did not like wearing the chest devises and much rather wear the devise on their arm. Also, the fit points. The kids clearly understand their goals and understand how to achieve them the most productive way.
Q: What have the teachers liked most about having the Heart Zones System?
A: Same as the students. They enjoy that they have moved from the student chest to their forearm. Also, the simplicity of entering student information into the heart zone system. All around easier product to use in the physical education setting.
