This formula is worthless. It is one of the primary reasons that folks fail in aerobic physical activity – they put in the sweat and don’t get the glow because their workouts are in the wrong heart rate zones.
The entire foundation of aerobic training is based on the 220 minus age formula. It is in every health club as a chart on the wall. It is on every cardio machine as a colored profile showing age as a spiral mort. It is in every website that tells you about zones. We are cursed by this dreaded formula.
